THE HALF MOON

The Half Moon is a jolly nice pub, but I'd somehow failed to notice that they also serve good food until a recent visit.  Most pubs tend towards extreme ends of the spectrum, with either poncey gastropub meals at inflated prices, or chips, chips and more chips, which is sometimes, admittedly, just what you want, though hard on the arteries.  Encouragingly, the Half Moon falls somewhere between these two camps, and I found myself at an entertaining open mike night sampling a rather nice mushroom pizza and lavish antipasto plate.  At a very reasonable £6 each, I will definitely be back (and not just because it's my local...)
