SWEDISH SNACKS

Aah, Ikea. There’s nothing quite like spending your Saturday wandering around with a massively Ikea2.JPGoverloaded trolley in the company of bickering couples and screaming toddlers. But wait – what is this beacon of hope beyond the till queues? Yes, it’s the Swedish Food Market! As well as novelty elk sausages and pickled herrings, there are some real gems to be found here, including several good cheeses, pear cider, and (my personal favourite) punschrulle, which are little marzipan and chocolate-dipped cakes of a delightful squidginess. Scrumptious! Or, as the Swedish would say, smaskens!
