I love vegetable box delivery schemes – it’s like getting an exciting present every week – and Abel & Cole has to be one of the best, with all their organic vegetables sourced locally and a really helpful range of other essentials (such as Ecover cleaning products), if you’re the lazy type. Sadly I no longer get their boxes; living in a slightly insalubrious area, they kept getting nicked from our doorstep, although if you send them a key (and have less paranoid housemates than me) they will deliver to inside your front door, if you so wish. They’ve just produced a cookbook, too, so if you’re bewildered by beetroot or confused by kale, you’ll doubtless find it a good place to start.
